The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Arctic
Division 2011 Annual Meeting will be held in 21-24 September 2011 in
Dillingham, Alaska. The 2011 theme is "Ecosystems: Understanding the
Cycle."

As the Arctic witnesses climate change, its marine and terrestrial
ecosystems are also rapidly transforming. This is causing many new
challenges for scientists and policymakers. Broad scale changes include
losses of sea ice, reduction in permafrost, and the conversion of tundra
to wetlands and shrub lands. These ecosystem-level changes in physical
conditions are influencing the health of human and environmental
systems. Science-based management and conservation is needed to help
determine how society will adapt and keep nature resilient and healthy.

Abstract submissions will be accepted through Monday, 15 August 2011 at
5:00 p.m. Alaska time. For information on submitting an abstract, please
go to: https://www.signup4.net/public/ap.aspx?EID=ARCT20E&OID=147. The
tentative session topics are as follows:
