The National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs (OPP) is
seeking a Program Manager for Research and Logistics Integration in the
Division of Antarctic Sciences (ANT).
The incumbent coordinates the development of science support plans
across the Division to ensure that the scientific objectives can be met
in an orderly, cost-effective, and efficient manner. The
responsibilities are wide-ranging. They may involve disciplinary or
multidisciplinary science; complex logistics efforts in air, on land, or
at sea; cross-program, cross-directorate, and interagency (e.g., NASA,
USGS, NOAA, Department of Defense) activities; and international
interests. Responsibilities not only include implementation of funded
projects but development of plans and support options to facilitate
long-range planning and to enable new directions in future Antarctic
research.
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent experience, as evidenced by
lead-authorship in peer-reviewed publications and/or demonstrated
leadership role in science projects in any field of science or science
support pertinent to the activities of the Division of Antarctic
Sciences. Also, applicants must have at least six years of research,
research support, research administration, science support and logistics
planning, and/or science support managerial experience. This full-time
position will be filled only through an appointment under the
Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA).
