The Universite du Quebec a Rimouski (UQAR) invites applications for a
Research Chair nominee on the effects of climatic changes on the
ecology, productivity, and exploitation of salmonid populations of
northern Quebec.
Northern studies are emerging at UQAR and are now considered as one of
the three main research axes. As such, the Chair will establish a
program at the UQAR focused on northern salmonid populations. The
candidate must have a Ph.D. in biology or in a related field. This
person should show a strong desire to work with agencies and
collectivities involved in the management of northern fish populations.
The candidate must have an outstanding research background. The
candidate will collaborate with other researchers and will supervise
M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in graduate programs offered by UQAR. The
candidate will also be requested to contribute to teaching at the
undergraduate level. The position will be conditional upon adequate
funding of the chair.
