A three week course in the high Arctic will be based out of the Thule
Air Base in northwest Greenland from 10-30 July 2005. Participants will
be exposed to basic skills in arctic research including ecology, earth
sciences, biogeochemistry, and hydrology. Participants will then
complete small group projects focusing on their individual interests.

This course will be taught by faculty from University of Alaska
Anchorage, University of Washington, and University of California Santa
Barbara with funding provided by the National Science Foundation. It is
targeted towards upper level undergraduates with interests in pursuing
graduate studies, and entry level graduate students. Foreign students
with proficiency in English are encouraged to apply in this competitive
process. All expenses of the course will be covered from the point of
origin (Albany, New York). Student must provide their own warm outdoor
clothing.
