A Warm Arctic Reception at AGU
You are invited to a reception hosted by the Arctic Institute of North
America (AINA) and the Arctic Research Consortium of the United States
(ARCUS) at the Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco, CA. The reception
will honor Linc Washburn, a former director of AINA, and will be on
Thursday, Dec. 11, 5:30-7:30 PM in Moscone Center, Room 200-212. This
follows the Special Sessions, on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday
morning, which are being held in honor of Linc (H03 Periglacial
Processes: A Special Session in Honor of Linc Washburn).
For the past ten years, the Arctic Institute of North America has hosted
receptions at the Fall AGU meeting for people interested in the Arctic.
The goal is to provide a place where hundreds of Arctic types can find
each other amidst the thousands at the AGU meeting. Our theme has been:
"Come see old friends and meet some new ones". Last year the reception
celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Arctic Chair at the Naval Post
Graduate School.
