    North Pacific Research Board

The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) announces that the 2013 NPRB
Graduate Student Research Awards Competition is now open. The
application deadline is Friday, 15 February 2013.

NPRB is offering up to six $25,000 awards (three for Master's students
and three for PhD students) for the opportunity to address scientific,
technological, and socio-economic issues relating to the research themes
identified in the 2005 NPRB Science Plan. Students must be enrolled in
or accepted by a graduate degree program at an accredited university or
college by the deadline.

Application deadline: Friday, 15 February 2013.

    Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies

The Canadian Northern Studies Trust (CNST) is a student awards program
of the Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies
(ACUNS). Applications are now being accepted for a variety of awards and
scholarships. The application deadline is Thursday, 31 January 2013.

The CNST was established in 1982 to further the organization's mandate
to advance knowledge and understanding of Canada's North by offering
student awards for exceptional northern-based research. The purpose of
the CNST is to foster scholars and scientists with northern experience
and, at the same time, to enhance educational opportunities available
for northern residents to obtain post-secondary education at Canadian
colleges and universities.

Application deadline: Thursday, 31 January 2013.
