  1. Conference Announcement
Itaa Kati- Festival of Traditional Knowledge
    20-21 September 2014
    Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada

Organizers announce open registration for the Itaa Kati - Festival of
Traditional Knowledge conference, which will convene 20-21 September
2014 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.

Indigenous scholars have suggested that traditional knowledge unifies
theory and practice and that it cannot be separated from a way of being
and a way of doing. This multi-event conference will provide a forum for
sharing insights into the meaning and uses of traditional aboriginal
knowledge with presentations from a wide range of perspectives.

Keynote speakers at the conference include Wade Davis, University of
British Columbia; Tim Ingold, University of Aberdeen; Paul Nadasdy,
Cornell University; Suzanne Stewart, University of Toronto, Ontario
Institute for Studies in Education; George Dei, University of Toronto,
Ontario Institute for Studies in Education; and George Nicholas, Simon
Fraser University.
