Inuit Health, Illness, and Healthcare Delivery
in the Circumpolar Regions
The Social Sciences Journal announces a call for submissions to a
Special Issue entitled, "Inuit Health, Illness, and Healthcare Delivery
in the Circumpolar Regions."
Editors welcome papers addressing the subjective experience of health
and illness in Inuit communities; Inuit responses to health and illness
(traditional and western); the societal, cultural, political, economic
forces, as well as environmental circumstances that threaten Inuit
health and enhance or diminish the delivery of healthcare. Empirical and
theoretical papers from various disciplines addressing Inuit health and
illness in the circumpolar regions; including medicine, public health,
anthropology, social work, sociology, and psychology are also welcome.
Service professionals working on practical public health, clinical, and
mental health programs as well as Indigenous/Inuit contributors are
strongly encouraged to submit papers. Lead editor of this issue is
Andrew J. Hund.
Submission deadline: 1 January 2015.

- Call for Input - User Survey
Antarctic Biodiversity Data Management Tool
Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research
Community input is requested via a user survey on the Antarctic
biodiversity data management tool, Biodiversity.aq, to help guide
Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) efforts to improve
services to the Antarctic scientific community.
Biodiversity.aq is an official product of SCAR, which builds on the
SCAR-Marine Biodiversity Information Network (Mar-BIN) and offers free
and open access to Antarctic biodiversity data. Survey results will be
discussed during the Biodiversity.aq workshop, which will convene during
the 2014 Open Science Conference 25-28 August in Auckland, New Zealand.
