The U.S. Arctic Research Commission (USARC), http://www.arctic.gov, an
independent federal agency, is seeking a Deputy Executive Director
(GS14/15), based in Anchorage, Alaska, to manage the Commission's Alaska
Office and to coordinate with the Executive Director and staff, in
Arlington, Virginia, in support of the Commission's presidentially
appointed Commissioners.
Preferred experience is comparable to that of a Program Manager or
Director, and is commonly associated with an advanced graduate degree
(PhD) in a scientific field. The successful candidate will demonstrate
broad knowledge of arctic scientific research, particularly as conducted
in greater Alaska, as well as an understanding of domestic and
international arctic research goals and policy issues.
The salary range for the position is between $83K-$127K, which does not
include a 23 percent cost of living allowance. Details on the position
