The U.S. Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service (MMS),
Procurement Operations Branch, is the contracting office for this
procurement and intends to award a cost reimbursement type contract for
the study "Chukchi Sea Offshore Monitoring in Drilling Area (COMIDA):
Chemical and Benthos (CAB)." The study will constitute a key component
of Chukchi Sea environmental studies pertinent to Chukchi Sea Lease Sale
193 which occurred in February 2008:

The study will initiate open water season monitoring of anthropogenic
chemicals associated with offshore oil and gas exploration and
development, and of benthic biota in the area of potential or actual
offshore drilling areas of the Chukchi Sea. Sampling will occur in two
of the years 2008-2010.
