In cooperation with the national and international mining and petroleum
field, the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) plans to expand its
research portfolio with a new academic program: Arctic Energy and
Environment.
UNIS is currently recruiting outstanding scientific staff in subjects
related to energy sources, with an emphasis on coal, petroleum, and
carbon capture and storage. UNIS expects to fill three full / associate
professor positions, one in each of the following areas: arctic mining
and coal technology, arctic petroleum technology, and arctic
energy-related geology.
UNIS' ambition to develop strong research-based activity in studies of
Arctic Energy Resources requires highly motivated and well-merited staff
members. Personal spirit and ambitions and an expressed will to support
the development of UNIS research and courses will be of importance for
the selection of candidates to the positions. The expected start date is
January 2008. Applicants must hold a PhD in an appropriate field, or its
equivalent. Candidates are requested to submit their application online

- full list of publications and previously held grants
- documentation of education, pedagogic or teaching certificates
(including a list of previously supervised graduate and PhD students)
