Pauktuutit is seeking applications from qualified individuals to direct
Pauktuutit project activities on a range of health, socio-economic,
cultural, and abuse issues affecting Inuit in Canada.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Projects Director oversees the conceptual and proposal development
for projects, negotiates and secures funding, assists in the hiring of
project staff, trains project staff, and supervises the implementation
of the projects through the completion and follow-up stages as relevant.
The Projects Director also retains several funded and unfunded project
files and oversees the work of related contractors. In addition, the
Projects Director represents Pauktuutit at several policy and/or
advisory tables and advises the President and Executive Director as
required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a relevant University degree and/or
several years of management experience, be well experienced in program
development and implementation, have strong communication skills, and be
highly recommended as a team leader. In addition, the winning candidate
will be aware of the political and social conditions of Inuit women and
have knowledge of current health, socio-economic, and cultural issues.
Exceptional team-building and project negotiation skills are critical to
this position.
Excellent English writing and editing skills are essential. Fluency in
oral and written Inuktitut is desirable. A complete job description is
