BACKGROUND
PAGES is a core project of the International Geosphere-Biosphere
Programme funded by the Swiss and US National Science Foundations. The
project seeks to facilitate international and interdisciplinary
cooperation in the paleo-environmental sciences. The International
Project Office has been located in Bern, Switzerland since 1990.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for the position of Executive Director must have a broad
knowledge of paleoscience and global change research. Working experience
in international scientific collaboration is essential. Fluency in
spoken and written English is required, proficiency in German would be
an advantage. Level of appointment will be related to experience, up to
the level of full professor. The initial contract period
is likely to be 3 years.
