Byrd Polar Research Center invites a postdoctoral scientist to
investigate the role of freshwater fluxes from Arctic glaciers on
regional and global ocean circulation and climate variability.
Postdoctoral awards will be for 18 months. A stipend of up to $35,000
USD per year, a research and travel allowance of $3,000 USD, and a new
computer workstation will also be provided. Selection of Byrd Fellows
will be made by a committee of members from the Byrd Center.
Each application should include the following:
(1) Statement of general research interests
(2) Description of the specific research to be conducted during the term
of the fellowship
(3) Curriculum vitae
(4) Three letters of reference
Fellowship appointments may start on the first day of any month between
1 September 2004 and 1 March 2005.
