The Alaska Natural History Association operates educational bookstores
at nearly every park, forest, or refuge in Alaska. The Association is a
nonprofit publisher and the educational partner of Alaska's public land
agencies. Proceeds from sales operations generate vital support for
educational programs, materials, and projects. The Association is a
member-supported organization.

The Alaska Natural History Association has launched a new website
available at:

CONTENTS
The website is a valuable resource when planning a trip to Alaska and
its parks, forests, or wildlife refuges. Visit the website for
information, maps, and books on Alaska's wild places. Explore
information on Alaska's protected lands and find a wide variety of books
on wildlife, trip planning, and history.

For travel planning and research, each Alaska park, wildlife refuge, or
forest that partners with the Association has a dedicated page of
information. Users can find visitor information, recommended books,
maps, specialty items, and links to the official public land sites. The
Association works closely with each public land agency in suggesting the
most appropriate books and maps for visitors.

For travelers researching their trip to Alaska, the website provides
resources for public lands throughout the state. For example, travelers
visiting Denali National Park and Preserve can purchase the Denali Road
Guide, Backcountry Companion, and/or Denali Trails to learn the best
places to hike in the park and where to look for wildlife while
traveling the park road. The bookstore features a complete selection of
books, maps, videos, and specialty products for Alaska's parks, forests,
and wildlife refuges.

Travelers looking for an experiential education experience can register
for a variety of offerings with the Denali Institute through the
website, ranging from a daily five-hour program to weekend Field
Seminars and Teacher Trainings (university credit through the University
of Alaska Fairbanks is available for all Teacher Trainings and Field
Seminars). The small group classes are designed not only to teach but to
inspire a renewed appreciation for our public lands and to foster their
stewardship for future generations.
