The National Science Foundation has released this year's program
solicitation (NSF 04-012) for "Information Technology Research for
National Priorities". This year's competition is focused on three
areas:
- Advances in Science and Engineering
- Economic Prosperity and Vibrant Civil Society
- National and Homeland Security
The first includes, among other possible topics, research on networked
data from modern environmental monitoring systems and the modeling of
such data. The last includes, among other topics, research on underwater
autonomous vehicles.
Letters of intent are due Wednesday, 14 January 2004.
Deadline for full proposals is Tuesday, 24 February 2004.
