World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the conservation organization, has offices in
27 countries and over five million supporters worldwide. Our Arctic
Programme office in Oslo, Norway is currently seeking a dynamic
professional to coordinate its work on arctic toxics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include work with the media on arctic toxics issues,
advocacy within regional and international forums on toxics issues,
developing and administering a small grants program for arctic toxics
research, and developing toxics field projects for WWF and partners in
the Barents Sea region.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a university degree in a relevant
natural science (for example, toxicology or zoology) and have held one
or more jobs involving policy, field, laboratory or consulting work on
arctic contaminants issues. Applicants should have a very high level of
proficiency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of either
Russian or a Scandinavian language is a plus. Other qualifications
include strong team-working skills, the ability to think and plan
strategically, familiarity with nature conservation, and willingness to
travel.
