VECO Polar Resources Offers Safety Training
Due to the positive feedback received, VECO Polar Resources (VPR)
continues to offer safety training courses to NSF-funded researchers in
2004. VPR will be hosting a Field Safety Training course in Boulder, CO,
on 15-18 Mar 04. The course will be facilitated by LTR Training Systems
(http://www.survivaltraining.com). The 4-day course will cover
wilderness medicine training, helicopter/bear safety training, and field
skills specific to working in tundra areas.
The course is sponsored through VPR by the National Science Foundation
and is open to 20 NSF-funded arctic researchers. This includes Principal
Investigators, Graduate Students, Research Assistants, and Undergraduate
Field Assistants. The course will be free of charge for all qualified
researchers. Travel assistance/per diem is available for participants
outside of the Boulder local area. Because this class is so popular, we
will only accept attendees whose schedules allow them to attend all days
of the course.
