Scientific Expedition to Axel Heiberg Island

Wilderness Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3), is organizing a
multidisciplinary scientific expedition to southern Axel Heiberg Island
(79N; 92W) to depart in June, 2004. Transportation from a designated
assembly area to the field and back, group gear, provisions, equipment,
lodging, guide service, government fees, etc., would be financed by the
Foundation. In all likelihood, the group would assemble at Ottawa
International Airport, and researchers would have to pay their travel
expenses to that point. Researchers may also be required to pay a very
modest fee to reserve a place in the expedition.
Ph.D.s and Ph.D. candidates in the earth and biological sciences are
invited to submit research proposals.
