New Science Plan Draft-
"Changes in the Arctic Land-Atmosphere System:
The role of physical, biological, and biogeochemical couplings in
the Arctic"
Comments/Suggestions due: end of January 2002
Dear Colleagues,
We request your input on a new science plan that addresses terrestrial
components of an integrated approach to study of the Arctic System. This
plan represents a significant departure from previous science plans in
that it addresses the contributions of terrestrial controls over and
consequences of changes in the Arctic System at the pan-Arctic scale.
Because this plan recommends a significant change in direction in the
study of Arctic System Science, it is important that it receive careful
scrutiny by those familiar with arctic science. The plan is available at
http://www.laii.uaf.edu/pubs/smo-pubs/draftplan.pdf.
Please send your comments and suggestions for improvement before the end
of January to the Arctic System Science (ARCSS) Land-Atmosphere-Ice
Interactions (LAII) Science Management Office (SMO) at the e-mail
addresses listed below.
Thank you for your assistance.
