Dear Colleague:
We solicit your participation in the 8th Scientific Assembly of the
International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science (IAMAS)
to be held in Innsbruck, Austria during 10-18 July 2001. In particular,
we are convening the following symposium:
2.3 Modes of Variability of the Polar Climates
This symposium will cover results from observational and modeling
studies concerned with: decadal-to-interannual variability of the
high-latitude climates; annular modes; the Antarctic semi-annual
oscillation; the effects of El Nino at high latitudes; modulations by
the NAO and PSA; recent warming of the Antarctic Peninsula; sea ice
variability; GCM simulations of climate variability; and effects on high
latitudes of human-induced climate change.
