WE ARE RECRUITING FOR TWO POSITIONS at the Arctic Research Consortium of
the U.S. (ARCUS) Fairbanks, Alaska
The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S., Inc. (ARCUS) is a national
nonprofit consortium of 41 universities concerned with Arctic research
and science education. The ARCUS head office is located in Fairbanks,
Alaska.
We are seeking energetic, creative, and technically skilled people to
work with a terrific 10-plus person team and our expanding scientific,
education, and outreach programs. These positions report to the
Executive Director.
PROJECT MANAGER We are seeking a new team member skilled in project
planning and development, technical and scientific writing and editing,
and publication layout and design, with experience in science education.
Responsibilities include management of several existing arctic science
education and outreach programs; participation in the development of new
projects; workshop planning and facilitation; and coordination of all
aspects of report publication. We will consider a contract arrangement
or full-or part-time employment for this position.
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR We are seeking a team member skilled in network
design and installation; management of T-1 Internet access and servers
hosting email list servers, web sites, and databases; and
troubleshooting MAC and PC hardware and software problems. We have
rapidly developing information systems and are searching for an
experienced administrator to research and implement long-term solutions
to expand our technological capability. Additional skills in web site
development and relational database design are a plus.
