Do you know that on February 2-5, 1999, Quebec City will host the first
World Summit on Nordicity?
Under the general theme of ADAPTATION TO THE COLD, this international
gathering will bring together speakers from 14 countries, representing
Northern communities as well as scientific, industrial, technological,
academic and government organizations, to examine and discuss topics such
as:
Transportation
Communications
Habitat and Urban Lighting in Northern Communities
Social Organization
Environment
Tourism
The presentations and workshops, accompanied by a trade show, will focus on
diverse socio-economic, political and technological aspects of adaptation
to the northern latitudes and will be led by experts on the North,
