Dear Arctic Researcher,
The National Science Foundation supports the integration of science
education and research. Special emphasis on the integration of research and
education is given by the Office of Polar Programs through the program
"Teachers Experiencing Antarctica and the Arctic," or TEA.
Teachers are selected to travel to the Arctic or the Antarctic for all or
part of a field season to participate in ongoing research. Additional
travel to the principal investigator's lab is supported for orientation and
data analysis. Funding is provided by the NSF's Division of Elementary,
Secondary, and Informal Science Education (ESIE) and the Office of Polar
Programs (OPP).
The TEA website is located at:

If you are an NSF-funded principal investigator and would like to
participate in the TEA program for the Arctic during the 1999 field season
