The theme of this year's Arctic Encounters Symposium (AES) is "Shifting
North: A New Era in the Arctic" and will confront challenges and engage
solutions regarding the shifting environmental, economic, and political
climate of today's Arctic regions.
Registration deadline: 13 April 2017.
As the largest annual Arctic policy conference in the United States, the
AES convenes policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to confront
emerging challenges in Arctic policy, innovation, and development. The
mission of AES is to raise awareness, engage challenges, and develop
solutions for the future of the Arctic region and the people who live
there.

This conference will provide a venue for dialogue, discussion, and
networking in order to promote the timely and effective response to the
need to translate science and knowledge into actions that support and
enhance decision-making and public policy at all relevant scales as well
as provide the foundation for adaptation and sustainability of natural
and human resources.
Registration deadline: 24 April 2017.
The conference will bring together diverse expert communities ranging
from scientists to decision-makers in order to identify, explore, and
create mechanisms through which science and knowledge can inform the
development of policies and decision-making.
