Organizers invite applications for the Emerging Leaders program that will consist of a combination of technical, social, and cultural events. This program takes place 16-22 January 2019 in the Norwegian Arctic, starting in the city of Bodø, continuing onboard the coastal cruise to Lofoten, and ending in Tromsø, Norway.
Emerging Leaders is an Arctic mentoring program for scientists and professionals under the age of 35 and working at universities, research institutions, or working in fields related to the Arctic.
During the Emerging Leaders program, participants will explore topics specific to the Arctic and engage in discussions on environment, resource management, security, the development of business, and technology in the Arctic. Mentors will challenge participants to present at the Arctic Frontiers Policy conference in Tromsø, Norway.
Applications, including a letter of motivation, a letter of support from the applicant’s department or supervisor, and a curriculum vitae, must be submitted via email to laura [at] salt.nu with “Emerging Leaders 2019” as email subject and headline.
Participants are invited to apply for funding scholarships, made available by the Research Council of Norway. These scholarships do not cover expenses related to participant travel to Bodø or return from Tromsø. The scholarships cover primarily Norwegian candidates or candidates at Norwegian institutions.
