The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications for the position of Director of Graduate Studies in Public Policy and Administration. This full-time position will be located at UAA in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Director of Public Policy programs will lead the development and growth of a joint Master of Public Policy (MPP)/Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. The Director will teach in the MPA/MPP program; conduct academic research in areas relevant to the public policy program; and provide university, professional, and public service appropriate to the position.
Requirements for this position include:
- PhD or terminal degree in a relevant discipline;
- Demonstrated leadership of a university public policy, public administration, or related program;
- Teaching experience and research record consistent with expectations for tenure; and
- Program accreditation experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated ability to lead faculty and academic programs in a climate of shared governance;
- Experience in program development and assessment;
- Knowledge and experience with the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration accreditation; and
- Experience in Arctic policy or the Alaska policy environment.
