Organizers invite abstract submissions for oral or poster presentations at the International Glaciological Society 2019 Sea Ice Symposium. This symposium will convene 18-23 August 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The theme of the symposium will be Sea Ice at the Interface. This theme will focus on the implications that changes to sea ice and freshwater-marine coupling – particularly involving ice sheets, glaciers, ice shelves, sea ice loss and continental runoff – have on climate systems within and beyond polar regions, environmental and ecological integrity, and socioeconomic development at the regional to global scales.
Additional symposium activities will include an opening reception, a banquet dinner, a mid-symposium afternoon excursion, and a post-symposium trip to Churchill, Manitoba.

The Council of the International Glaciological Society will publish a thematic issue of the Annals of Glaciology on topics consistent with the symposium themes. Participants are encouraged to submit manuscripts for this volume. The call for manuscript submissions is now open and will close on 1 October 2019.
