The Conference Organizing Committee has released an updated agenda, updated speaker information, and announced a new travel award opportunity for the Arctic Futures 2050 conference. This conference will convene 4-6 September 2019 in Washington, D.C.
Arctic Futures 2050 – convened by the Study of Environmental Arctic Change (SEARCH) – is an international conference designed to enhance collaboration between scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and those making and influencing policy. The conference will explore the opportunities and challenges for deeper dialogue between these groups. The goal of the conference is to facilitate such dialogue and avenues to sustained collaboration.
Registration is open, and early-bird registration rates are available through 10 July 2019. The Arctic Futures 2050 Conference website has been updated with the latest agenda and speaker updates.
The Arctic Futures 2050 Conference Organizing Committee announces a new general travel award opportunity for potential conference attendees regardless of background, nationality, or career stage. Travel support award programs are also available for early-career researchers and Indigenous knowledge holders. The total number of travel awards will be dependent on funding. Applications for travel awards are due by 20 May 2019. The Arctic Futures 2050 Conference Organizing Committee also invites abstracts for posters. Poster sessions will be held during each day of the conference as an integral part of the agenda and expansion of the plenary sessions. Poster abstracts are due 20 May 2019.
