The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Collaborations and the Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S. (ARCUS) will be hosting a virtual Arctic research speed networking event TODAY, 26 April from 9:00-10:30 a.m. AKT/10:00-11:30 a.m. PT/11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. MT/12:00-1:30 p.m. CT/1:00-2:30 p.m. ET.

Over the course of 1.5 hours, researchers will be split into a series of small groups to rapidly get to know one another and explore shared research interests. Small groups will be organized across diverse disciplines, knowledge systems, and career levels. A new group will be convened for each of the four planned networking rounds outlined below:

Rounds 1 & 2: Small Group Introductions (15 minutes each round)
In these rounds, participants will be invited to introduce themselves and discuss their general collaboration interests.

Round 3: Geographic Focus Area Networking (15 minutes)
In this round, participants will be invited to join other participants interested in research collaborations focused on the following geographic areas:

  • Pan-Arctic
  • Far North Alaska
  • Alaska (all regions)
  • Canadian Arctic (or cross-border U.S./Canada)
  • Greenland
  • European/Eurasian Arctic
  • Arctic Ocean &/or Northern Seas

**Round 4: Thematic Interest Area Networking **(15 minutes)
In this round, participants will be able to discuss collaboration interests and research funding opportunities associated with the following themes:

  • Human migration
  • Food security
  • System science connections to energy
  • Coastal resilience
  • International collaborations
  • Other topics (free discussion)

Participants will also have an opportunity to exchange more information about their background and collaboration interests through registration form responses that they can choose to share with other participants after the event.

You do not have to be a member of either ARCUS or IARPC Collaborations to participate.

NOTE: ARCUS has made the difficult decision to temporarily pause collaborations with Russian-based organizations; individuals from Russian- or Belarus-based organizations will not be allowed to register or participate in this event at this time.
