The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S. (ARCUS) and the Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Collaborations invite registration for an virtual networking event with Arctic research funders on Monday, 7 November 2022, 9:00–10:30 a.m. AKDT/1:00–2:30 p.m. EDT.
The Arctic Funders Meet & Greet Networking Event will provide an informal opportunity for Arctic researchers to connect with multiple research funding program officers to gain insight into each funding organization’s Arctic research interests.
The event has been planned using a “speed networking” format that will allow representatives from each funding organization to meet with small groups of researchers for approximately 10-15 minutes at a time.
Researchers will be invited to move between breakout groups hosted by agency staff in a round-robin format. Participating researchers will be able to meet with approximately 5-6 different funders over the 1.5-hour event.
Funders participating in this year's event include:
- National Science Foundation
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration
- North Pacific Research Board
- U.S. Department of State & Arctic Fulbright Initiative
- International Arctic Science Committee
- U.S. Arctic Research Commission
- U.S. Department of Energy
- Office of Naval Research
Small group conversations will explore the Arctic research interests of each funding organization, how proposals are evaluated for funding consideration, or provide an opportunity to address a handful of specific questions that would be appropriate for group discussion.
This is a wonderful opportunity for both early career and established researchers to meet with key Arctic research funding contacts and to learn about a variety of funding mechanisms to support current or future projects.
There is no cost to participate and you do not need to be an ARCUS or IARPC Collaborations member to attend.
